KC G.I.F.T. is a full service business center that provides Black business owners in Kansas City’s historically redlined neighborhoods with equitable access to financial support through grants, and provides free small business support to any small business in the Greater Kansas City area

Combined with the outcomes and residual growth in job creation from FY1, 2, 3 &4, we have given out $1,679,000 to 70 different Black-owned businesses, resulting in the creation of 135 new jobs that pay an average hourly wage of $16.06/hour, and our grant recipients have experienced an average growth in revenue of 209% in our first four years of operation.

Since opening, the business center has facilitated over 4,879 technical assistance appointments, supporting 1,510 businesses in just two years. As a result, we have seen 40 new jobs created, 150 new businesses registered, and 100 new bookkeeping systems set up, all contributing to the growth of Black-owned businesses at our 50th & Prospect location.

Professional Volunteer

Sign up to be a business coach, QuickBooks consultant/set up, marketing consultant (strategy, content creation, logo/design work), basic website developer (Wix/Shopify), credit consultant, or nonprofit coach. This can be done in person or virtually, but will require a consistent schedule set by you.

G.I.F.T. Ambassador

Become a G.I.F.T. Ambassador

We are able to do this work because of individual donations that fuel our grant program and business center. Our goal is to reach 15,000 people who donate $10/month. The G.I.F.T. Ambassadors are a committee of monthly donors who develop innovative ways to increase the number of supporters actively contributing to the mission of KC G.I.F.T.
